NL Phasing out SAP PO? Not a difficult job for BAM Infra.
As of 2027, SAP PO is end of life. With multiple SAP solutions as the backbone of its business processes, BAM Infra faced a crucial challenge.
BAM Infra, part of one of the largest construction companies in the Netherlands, is at the forefront of transforming its IT landscape. With the impending end of SAP PO support, BAM Infra faced a major challenge.
Business Goals
Royal BAM, and therefore BAM Infra, chose the eMagiz integration platform as its standard integration solution for application integration several years ago. The purpose of deploying eMagiz within BAM Infra is effective and efficient data integration between applications, guaranteeing the stability and usability of the BAM Infra data and application landscape.
Integration Challenges
With SAP PO being declared end-of-support in 2027, BAM Infra had to look for a timely solution to replace SAP PO. Because of the wide deployment of eMagiz as a standard integration platform, there was a desire to link eMagiz directly to the SAP back-end applications, skipping SAP PO. By making some adjustments in SAP, making standard interfaces on the SAP side approachable as web services, eMagiz is able to facilitate direct data exchanges. As a result, the integrations can be structurally transferred to eMagiz and BAM Infra is able to completely phase out SAP PO before the end-of-support date of 2027.
How eMagiz helps
eMagiz is used to unlock many external SaaS services, as well as internal (self-built) applications. SAP was mostly accessed within BAM Infra through SAP products, including SAP PO, after which messages and data were exchanged with other applications via eMagiz.
Many of these integrations are designed with the messaging integration pattern, where messages are exchanged asynchronously between applications. For innovation use cases, BAM Infra also uses the API Gateway within the eMagiz platform, which allows modern APIs to be hosted and data to be exchanged synchronously. Also, event-driven data exchange through event streaming is coming more and more into focus, for example, for IoT use cases.
Because all integration patterns are offered from a single platform, eMagiz-trained BAM employees are able to quickly deploy these patterns for new projects. They can focus their knowledge and energy on a single platform, increasing the speed of development. BAM's total eMagiz landscape consists of more than 400 integrations, more than 100 connected applications and millions of messages exchanged every day. This makes the eMagiz platform essential for the realization of connectivity within the BAM Infra landscape and new projects.
